Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are for residential customers only. For trade / commercial terms please see here.

Guarantee
All products come with the full manufacturer's warranty, unless otherwise stated. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Once the product is fitted, the product is then covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Sockets and Switches cannot be held responsible for any errors in the installation of the product.

Prices
We review prices regularly to ensure that the prices on the page are accurate and up to date. This means that prices shown on the site can alter without notice.

Ordering
Please ensure that you are ordering precisely what you require to avoid any unnecessary expense later.

Delivery
Delivery is to any address with a UK postcode including The Isle Of Man and The Channel Islands. For some locations e.g. Highlands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Isle Of Man and The Channel Islands an additional delivery charge will apply. If you live outside the UK or when access to the property is not straight forward, we may still be able to deliver, however an additional delivery charge will apply. Again please contact us for further information.

The goods will be left by the driver within the property, where possible on the ground floor of the house. If you require delivery to anywhere other than the ground floor please contact us to check whether this is possible. It will depend on the items you are ordering and the level of access.

The delivery is normally in the standard working week e.g. Monday to Friday. Deliveries outside these days are at the discretion of the delivery company and there will be an additional charge for this service, which we reserve the right to pass on to you.

If you are not available on the agreed date and the delivery company cannot contact you, we again reserve the right to pass on to you any fees we are charged for any non-deliveries (i.e. you are not available to, or do not, accept the delivery at the time of delivery), and for any redeliveries by the delivery company made outside their normal terms.

For all deliveries that we receive back to us after more than one non-delivery to the specified delivery address, will have to be collected from our offices by you, or by a nominated courier paid directly by you, after you have settled any possible outstanding fees from the delivery company for the non-deliveries. We will not resend these orders out for delivery again using our couriers. Please check your order confirmation to ensure the delivery address is correct to save unecessary time and expense later.

If you ask the delivery company to use an alternative method of delivery, for example leaving in a safe place or with a neighbour, we are not responsible for the parcels or their contents once the consignment has been delivered as you requested. This does not affect your statutory rights for the products.

Deliveries are carried out by our transport, via independent carriers or by the manufacturers themselves. Some orders may be delivered in more than one drop.

Delivery Security
Delivery should be to the address to where the credit card is billed. This is to protect you as well as us. If there is a genuine reason for delivering to a different address e.g. if you are moving house, then we can deliver to your new address, please state the reason when ordering in the notes box. It is important to inform your credit card\debit card company that you are ordering goods to a different address other than the invoice address. Alterations to the address may add to the delivery time of your order.

As a security measure before the goods are released, the drivers may ask for additional identification that will link you to the delivery address e.g. driving licence, utility bill.

Access
We reserve the right to refuse delivery if you have not informed us about any conditions that may affect the delivery access or, when the delivery company arrives they determine it is unsafe to make the delivery. You will have the choice of leaving the products on the ground floor\in the property, or the products will be taken away and any failed delivery charges that occur from the delivery company will be passed on to you.

Inspection
We very strongly recommend that on delivery you thoroughly inspect the goods before signing the delivery acceptance slip. If inspection is not possible before signing for the items, e.g. a delivery by courier, please accept the goods and inspect the items as soon as possible after signing for them. In the unlikely event of obvious damage occurring in transit and you have not signed for the items, please refuse the delivery, returning the damaged goods with the driver, making a note of the problem on the delivery slip. In either case please report any damages, faults or errors in the order to us immediately and then confirm the information to us in writing. A new plate will be ordered for you. You can email or write to us as per the contact details section.

We cannot refund or exchange any items which are signed for, have not have been reported as damaged within three working days and then subsequently reported as damaged after this period. Such damage, which could be seen on a reasonable initial inspection, for example and not exclusively, dented or scratched plates, will not be accepted. This does not relate to any fault\problem found later that could not be seen easily on a reasonable initial inspection. This does not affect your guarantee or statuary rights.

Installation
The prices quoted are for purchase\delivery of products and does not include any installation/fitting.

We cannot accept liability for damages or errors if goods have been fitted/used.

We recommend that you do not arrange dates for any installers\fitters or remove/discard any old electrical equipment until the NEW equipment has arrived and been checked for damages.

ALL electrical work MUST be carried out by a QUALIFIED electrician.

Cancellations and Returns
You can cancel your order at any time from point of ordering up to the delivery date, and then within 14 working days from the day after the date of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. You can do this by phone, email or in writing as per the contact details section. The goods must be returned in their original packaging in perfect saleable condition. Returning the goods is at your own expense and this is non-refundable. If Sockets and Switches have to incur the cost of the collecting the goods for whatever reason, a deduction will be made from the refund to cover the direct cost of collecting the goods. The full amount for the returned goods, minus any deduction for collection, will be refunded within 30 days of the date of cancellation notification using the original method of payment. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you wish to return an item that is not an error on our part, and/or the situation is not covered by the above paragraph on cancellations, the goods must be returned in their original packaging in saleable condition. Any items returned damaged will incur the full cost of the item. Please ensure that you are ordering precisely what you require to avoid any unnecessary expense later.

Any goods made specifically to a customer's specification cannot be returned under any circumstances. Please make sure you are ordering precisely what you require.

Colour Matching

Only the socket or switch plate body is colour matched. Colour match sockets and switches only come with black or white rocker switches and electrical components, they cannot be colour matched.

Please make sure the colour you give us is the correct match to the paint etc. that the sockets and switches will be fixed to or to the item(s) you are colour matching with. As this is a bespoke service any items made to your specifications are unique, so if we have supplied the colour specified, then the items cannot be returned as the items are made to your specification.

If you are unsure about any part of the process, or the colours, please talk to us first before ordering.

Export Orders

Export orders can only be cancelled and considered for a refund if your request is received within 7 working days of the order being placed and paid for. Any additional payment processing charges made at the time of order are not refundable.

If you wish to cancel an Export order after the initial 7 working day time limit you must communicate your reasons to us in writing for consideration. Your request may only be accepted with the written agreement of Sockets and Switches / Iustus Ltd. Any cancellations approved by Iustus Ltd may be subject to restocking and other charges. These charges can be clarified at the time of order if requested by the importer (buyer).

Once Export orders have been dispatched they can no longer be cancelled.

Payment
Credit Cards - We accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Switch and Delta. When you place your order we take full payment for the goods. Due to increased security by the credit card companies, your transaction may be held if it felt to be outside your normal spending patterns and your bank may contact you to check that you have placed the order. To avoid this delay please inform the credit card\debit card companies that you are ordering any order with a high value so they will expect the transaction. If for some reason there is going to be an extended delay in delivery you can have the opportunity to cancel the order with a full refund, or we can credit your card until the goods are available. Otherwise your order is committed and delivery will take place without further reference to us apart from contacting you with a delivery date.

Cheques or Postal Orders - We also accept cheques or postal orders, However all cheques must clear the bank before the order will be processed. This will add a minimum of four working days to your delivery date from the time of sending the cheque to us. Please make your cheque out to Sockets and Switches and post to
