Notes

Surface Mounted boxes are also known as a Pattress. They are available in single or double versions.

Our surface mounted boxes are made of steel and/or plastic and then finished to match the faceplate giving you an authentic look when mounting electrical accessories on the surface.

We have a Brushed Steel finish which fits in with Brushed and Satin Chrome, Satin Stainless and Satin Nickel (as pictured). We also have Steel Grey, Bronze and Matt Black and all of these finishes are made of a steel frame or sleeve that fits over and around a plastic pattress (provided).

We also offer a Polished Brass and a Polished Chrome Version but the sleeves or frames on these two finishes are made of plastic.

All of our surface boxes are 28mm deep and this allows you fit almost any faceplate in our range onto the front of these boxes.

These boxes have a single earth terminal or an earth fly lead.

What is a Surface Mount Boxes (Wall Boxes)?

You might find that on occasions it is just not possible or desirable to chop into a wall to fit a flush mounting wall box. We often find that in many listed buildings you are simply not permitted to ruin the fabric of the wall surfaces and it is at times like these that our Surface Mount Wall Boxes offer you the perfect solution. Our boxes are finished to match our faceplates which gives you an authentic look when mounting electrical accessories on the surface.

Most other companies only offer surface mounted boxes made of plastic. These have the tendency to chip, peel or fade in colour which generally ruin the appearance of the faceplate. We recommend you fit boxes like ours that are made from the same material as the faceplate.

We currently offer 2 different types of Wall Mounted Surface boxes and we can supply these in almost any finish to match the Sockets and Switches on our website (with one or two exceptions).

Wall Mounted Box with PVC inner Pattress

We offer a range of boxes with a steel sheath that fits over a PVC Pattress (supplied). These boxes are suitable for plates between 85-89mm x 85-89mm for a single sized plate or 85-89mm x 145-149mm for a twin sized plate.

This range of boxes are all 30mm deep. These boxes are only available in the following finishes:

Solid Metal Wall Mounted Box

We offer a wide range of hand made solid metal boxes and we make these in 2 sizes (Small & Large).

These boxes have a square edged profile and they are available in the following sizes

• Small Single Boxes 86mm x 86mm
• Small Twin Boxes 146mm x 86mm
• Large Single Boxes 94mm x 94mm
• Large Twin Boxes 154mm x 94mm

This range of boxes are all 35mm deep. These boxes are available in the following finishes:
