Dimmer switches ideal for children’s bedrooms

30/09/2011
Children spend more time in their bedroom than anywhere else in the house and dimmer switches can really help in creating a sanctuary that promotes restfulness and sleep.

Harsh lighting in a child’s bedroom is usually a bad idea as experts believe that excessive light inhibits the release of melatonin in the brain. Melatonin is essential for sleep.

Install a dimmer switch in your child’s bedroom and you will be able to control the level of light yourself ensuring that, when it comes to bed time, your child will understand that it is time for sleep.

It is also a good idea, as children get older, to let them have a say in the décor of their room.
