Consider mood lighting for your home

19/09/2011
Mood lighting is becoming more significant when it comes to lighting design as scientific studies continue to indicate that the influence of different colours can affect mood.

It was discovered a few years ago that the introduction of blue mood lighting in a number of streets in Glasgow reduced the level of crime.

Chromotherapy, a type of alternative medicine, is based on idea that different coloured lights can have different effects on health.

When selecting mood lighting for your home, bear in mind that blue is thought to promote feelings of safety and calm, green represents earth, spring and youth, yellow happiness and red passion, speed and action.

Unlike traditional incandescent bulbs, LED lighting can encompass a broad spectrum of colour, which makes them ideal for use as mood lighting.
